Since graduating from NUS as a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery in 1993, Professor Nigel Tan has contributed greatly to research in education and neurology. Professor Nigel Tan is now a senior consultant in the Department of Neurology, and Education Director at the National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) Singapore. He is also the Vice Chair of the Neuroscience Academic Clinical Program, overseeing health professions education within NNI, the Assistant Dean for Year 3 at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and a Clinical Associate Professor with Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Professor Nigel Tan has been awarded the Singhealth Global Apple Education Award in 2011 for his contribution to education, as well as two awards for education research at the Asia-Pacific Medical Education Conference. His research interests include neurology and education, in fields such as clinical epileptology and genetics of common epilepsies.
